On August 25, Ontario held its second Masters Graduate stream draw.
In order to be invited, applicants needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 37, which was a small reduction from the first draw.
They’ve got 14 days to submit an application and pay the $1,500 application cost.
Earlier this month, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) launched its EOI intake system for Masters Graduate applicants.
International students holding a master’s degree from an approved Ontario university can now apply for immigration at any time through the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
About Ontario’s Masters Graduate Stream
To be considered for the Masters Graduate stream, you must first register with Ontario’s e-Filing Portal and then submit a graduate stream expression of interest.
The province of Ontario then asks qualified applicants to apply for a provincial nomination, which strengthens any application for permanent residency in Canada.
In order to qualify for the Ontario Masters Graduate stream, candidates must demonstrate past residency in Ontario. Successful applicants must show that they have resided in Ontario for at least 12 out of the 24 months prior to the application.
Language Proficiency
The Masters Graduate track needs a minimum language competence score of 7 on the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) in either English or French 7.
Level of Education
Within the previous two years, candidates must have obtained a master’s degree from an approved Ontario school. The following institutions of higher learning are eligible for the Ontario Masters Graduate stream:

Settlement Funds
All candidates for the Ontario Masters Graduate program must fulfill Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s settlement money requirement (IRCC).
This might be proved by their personal financial situation or by retaining a genuine job offer.
Intention to Reside
Applications also require proof of a long-term plan to live in Ontario, such as a work offer or familial ties to the province.
Application Procedure for Masters Graduate Stream
This stream is now opened, however it will close at a later date through the OINP Expression of Interest system.
Eligible applicants can submit an EOI through OINP’s e-Filing Portal once the Expression of Interest (EOI) system for this stream opens, for a chance to be invited to apply for nomination.
The OINP points system is used to rate profiles. The top-scoring applicants will be invited to participate in one of the OINP draws.
The candidate has 14 calendar days after receiving an invitation to petition for nomination.
If the application is approved by the province, the applicant will be notified that they have been chosen for provincial nomination.
The applicant’s ONe-Key account within the e-Filing Portal will get this message.
An applicant must file a federal application for Canadian permanent residency after getting a provincial nomination.
Applicants for this program must fill out and mail a paper-based application for permanent residence to the relevant application centre.
Permanent residency applications submitted on paper are typically processed in 18 months.
